Angels Among Us is raising funds to build a comprehensive, year-round Family Resource & Community Center for the Short Creek Area — rooted in disability access, inclusion, Family Navigation, recreation, respite, education, wellness, and whole-family support close to home.

Angels Among Us currently provides Family Navigation — helping families in the Short Creek area find trusted local, state, and national resources, connect with support, and feel less alone in the journey. We walk alongside families as they navigate services, programs, and systems for their child.
Below you will find a curated library of local, state, and national resources we share as part of that work. Additional programs and services are planned for the future Family Resource Center as funding and development progress.

The following programs and services are part of our vision for the future Angels Among Us Family Resource Center. They are not currently available — they are planned as funding, development, staffing, licensing, and formal partnerships allow.
We share this vision so families know what is being built for their community — and so they can be part of making it happen.
A dedicated Family Navigation hub within the center — a warm, welcoming space where families can meet with navigators, access resources, and connect with support in person.
A fully enclosed all-abilities playground, covered splash pad, in-ground trampoline and movement room, and outdoor gathering areas — designed from the ground up for children of every ability.
Sensory rooms, a decompression and low-stimulation room, and movement areas designed for children with sensory processing differences and related needs.
A future caregiver wellness space where parents and caregivers can exercise, decompress, and access support resources while remaining close to their child.
Structured child activity programs that may give caregivers protected time for errands, appointments, rest, or their own wellbeing — while their child is engaged in a safe, supervised setting.
Future educational programming and school-related opportunities as part of the broader campus vision — planned as funding, development, and formal partnerships progress. No specific school or educational organization has been named.
Childcare is an important community need and a possible future component of the center — planned separately as the campus grows. No specific childcare provider has been named.
Space for future therapy providers and service partnerships — occupational, physical, speech, and other therapies — as formal agreements and funding allow.
A multipurpose room, outdoor terrace, and community gathering spaces for programs, events, peer support groups, and family activities.
Expanded peer support groups, caregiver connection programs, and community events that bring families together and reduce isolation.

Families of children and adults with permanent disabilities may qualify for a FREE Lifetime Access Pass to National Parks and more than 2,000 federal recreation sites.
This pass may help families enjoy outdoor spaces, national parks, and recreation areas at little or no cost.
Angels Among Us shares this resource to help families access inclusive recreation opportunities. Please confirm current eligibility and requirements through the official USGS website.

State of Utah
Utah's Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD) provides long-term services and supports for eligible Utah residents with developmental disabilities — including residential support, day programs, employment services, and assistance for families caring for a loved one at home.
Many families in our community are unaware that DSPD exists, or they delay looking into it because the process feels distant or complicated. What families often don't realize is that eligibility determination and waiting lists can take years — which means the earlier a family begins the process, the better positioned they will be when services are needed most.
Apply as early as possible.
If your child may qualify for DSPD services, we encourage you to begin the application process now — even if services feel far off. Establishing eligibility early can make a meaningful difference for your family's future planning. You do not have to have everything figured out to take the first step.

Your local school district is legally required to evaluate your child for free and provide services if eligible. This is often the fastest path to support.
No one knows your child like you do. Trust your instincts, ask questions, and don't be afraid to push for what your child needs.

Our website shares trusted community resources and our long-term vision for a Special Needs Family Resource Center. While we are not yet providing direct services, every donation, sponsorship, volunteer, and community partnership brings us one step closer to opening our doors and serving families throughout the Short Creek Area.
