The heart of the campus — a welcoming hub centered on disability access, resources, Family Navigation, trusted guidance, advocacy, peer and family connection, and help navigating complex systems. Planned space may include resource connections, navigation support, gathering areas, caregiver and family support, and opportunities to connect families with education, healthcare, therapy, disability services, benefits, and community resources as future programs, resources, and collaborations develop.

Calming, accessible sensory and movement spaces designed to support children and individuals with a wide range of sensory, developmental, communication, behavioral, and physical needs. Planned features may include adjustable lighting, tactile and sensory elements, movement opportunities, calming equipment, quiet areas, and flexible spaces designed to support regulation, comfort, participation, and inclusion.

A dedicated trampoline and active-movement space designed to provide safe opportunities for movement, vestibular and sensory input, motor development, regulation, confidence, and joyful recreation for children and individuals with a wide range of abilities and support needs. The room is planned with accessibility, safety, inclusion, and flexible recreational and developmental use in mind.

Equine and therapeutic recreation are part of the planned early development of the Angels Among Us campus. The vision includes safe, structured opportunities for children and individuals with disabilities to experience movement, connection, confidence, sensory regulation, and meaningful interaction with horses. Equine-based activities may support balance, coordination, communication, emotional regulation, and overall well-being while creating a unique recreational opportunity that is currently limited in the Short Creek Area.

A fully enclosed, accessible all-abilities playground designed so children with different physical, developmental, sensory, and support needs can play alongside siblings, friends, and peers. Planned features include adaptive equipment, inclusive play structures, sensory elements, shaded areas, safe surfacing, and accessible pathways designed with safety, participation, and belonging in mind.

A covered, accessible splash pad and shallow water-play area designed to provide safe, sensory-rich recreation for children of different abilities. Planned features include wheelchair-friendly access, gentle fountains and spray elements, shaded play areas, shallow wading opportunities, and spaces where children, caregivers, and families can enjoy water play together.

Beautiful, accessible outdoor spaces designed to support movement, regulation, exploration, family connection, and community gathering. Planned features may include lush sensory gardens, wide accessible walking paths, shaded seating areas, calming natural elements, family-friendly garden spaces, quiet reflection areas, and flexible outdoor gathering space for events, activities, and shared community use. The goal is to create an outdoor environment that feels restorative, inclusive, welcoming, and easy for children, caregivers, siblings, and families of all abilities to enjoy together.

Flexible, hands-on learning spaces designed for children and participants of varying abilities to build confidence, independence, and practical everyday skills. Planned activities may include cooking, food preparation, basic household skills, arts and crafts, creative projects, adaptive learning, and other experiences that encourage teamwork, problem-solving, self-expression, participation, and greater independence. The kitchen area is also planned to support family activities, classes, community events, and future event rentals as the center develops.

A comprehensive family-support space designed around the understanding that supporting a child with disabilities means supporting the people who love and care for them, too. Planned resources and spaces may include caregiver wellness and fitness opportunities, full-family mental health resources and connections, sibling support, peer connection, respite opportunities, quiet and decompression rooms, and supervised child activities that allow caregivers meaningful time to exercise, attend appointments, rest, recharge, or focus on their own well-being while remaining connected to their child nearby. The goal is to reduce caregiver stress and isolation while creating a place where parents, caregivers, siblings, and children can all find support, connection, and belonging.

Planned interactive exploration and discovery spaces designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning for children of all abilities. The children's museum vision includes accessible, sensory-friendly exhibits and flexible learning environments that can support imaginative play, STEM-based exploration, arts and creativity, life-skills learning, interactive displays, and family-centered educational experiences. This space is intended to serve as a year-round destination for local families while also creating opportunities for school field trips, enrichment activities, group learning experiences, and community-based educational programming. As part of the broader Angels Among Us center, the children's museum is envisioned as both a meaningful community resource and a long-term sustainability feature — a space that can encourage repeat visits, support ongoing family engagement, attract school and community participation, and help create a vibrant, welcoming destination that brings children and families back again and again.

Flexible education, childcare, and multipurpose community spaces planned to serve children, families, and the broader Short Creek community throughout the year. The vision includes year-round childcare, special-needs educational opportunities, flexible classroom environments, Montessori-style learning opportunities, hands-on education, life-skills development, classes, workshops, trainings, family activities, community gatherings, presentations, celebrations, and future event rentals. The multipurpose component is intended to adapt for many different uses, with flexible seating and room configurations, audiovisual capability, accessible design, and convenient access to the adjoining kitchen area for events and community use. By bringing education, reliable childcare, family programming, and community gathering space into the same comprehensive center as disability resources, recreation, Family Navigation, respite, and family support, Angels Among Us hopes to create a true year-round hub close to home.
